Again,
this site incurred a facelift - for better,
of course. Had it not been for your
support and patronage, this site's lifeline
wouldn't have been possible. I humbly
thank you all - for your thoughts, viewpoints
and ideas. Hopefully, at least by
now, we all know that this medium can always
get us back to where we came from and who
we are.
There is so much in our
culture and heritage that are worth preserving.
By continuously venerating our traditions
the way we should, I don't think we will
ever devaluate our Noche Buenas, town Fiestas,
Sinulog (during Santo Niño), respect for
elders, childhood folk tales, stories of
national heroes, themes of our native love
songs, etc. Even for some of us who already
have adapted to ambient foreign cultures,
occasional visits to our beloved province
will always refresh a profound and sentimental
reminiscence of our bittersweet memoirs.
Such is life!
I am urging all generations
of Maasin and Southern Leyte to be faithful
keepers of our invaluable heritage.
We must undertake meaningful strides that
promote an awareness of a mutual solidarity
among ourselves. With this in mind,
we can come together as a people whom united
and unselfish willingness to reach out and
help one another transpires under the "Bayanihan"
spirit. It is only in looking back
to where we came from that we can progressively
move forward for Maasin City, Southern Leyte
and ourselves..
Hence, MaasinCity.Com
shall persist to exist on the Internet -
totally independent of political, religious,
personal, business affiliation or any other
influences. Your continuous patronage
and participation in this medium will only
increasingly enhance its function and purpose.
At least during our lifetime, despite life's
trials and tribulations, we can proudly
tell our children and their children that,
in our hearts, we're nonetheless a Maasinhon
or Southern Leyteno - yesterday,
today,
and tomorrow.
We remain.....

yours , |
