Although it has been since 1995 when I left L.A./Pasadena, California, I still follow the Lakers, not only as an NBA team that I learned about them before they relocated to Los Angeles from (http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/mpls/mplslakers.html) Minneapolis. I follow the Lakers not as a sports fan, but as a continuing business student because according to the Fortune and Forbes business magazines, The Lakers, Inc. is one of the top 5 or 10 entertainment companies in the U.S.A.!
The company respects everyone who works from the lowest job description, such as a janitor to the highest top executive of the private company. There is no limit to what you can work your way from the bottom to the top. It also allows the NBA players to become the top executives of the company, for example, Magic Johnson, unlike the Bulls which did not give top executive position to Michael Jordan.
You see, the former cheer leaders and basketball players of the Lakers are now top or famous celebrities too. Example, Paula Abdul. Byron Scott and Michael Cooper are famous coaches of other basketball teams. If I remember right, Kurt Rambis is also a top executive of The Lakers, Inc.
Let's celebrate with the top NBA team 2009, and one of the top entertainment companies in the world, Lakers!

Some of this year's captivating beauties vying for the title Binibining Pilipinas 2009 are composed of starlets, stock investors, flight attendant, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate, a daughter of a former beauty queen, and a Southern Leyteno.
Yes, candidate number 22, Priscilla Mae Honorio, a 21-year old Nursing graduate, hails from Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
Now on its 45th year, Binibining Pilipinas remains as the highly-anticipated beauty event in the Philippines.
On Sunday, March 1, catch a glimpse of this year’s 24 official candidates at the Parade of beauties scheduled at 4:00 PM at the Araneta Center.
The 2009 parade of beauties is expected to be another triumph and festivities of true Filipina beauty as the next envoy to the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International pageants.

Hon. NACIONAL "NIKKO" VERANO MERCADO, the Brgy. Captain of Abgao, ABC President of Maasin City, and Provincial ABC President of Southern Leyte, at his very young age is still adjusting to his new life's routines. From a bachelor student to a businessman, and now a politician, it is indeed quite hard to adjust. The Mercado Bachelor will surely follow the foot steps of his father, the Congresman, and his uncle, the Governor.
Nikko will also be celebratig his 26th BIRTHDAY on FEBRUARY 13, 2008 (WEDNESDAY) People are now thinking if in what way this young bachelor would going to celebrate his birthday. His father used to spend the special day into environmental activity such as tree planting, while his uncle used to give free lunch to the people.
Nikko...we wish you gOod heaLTh with all success in all your careers. Be good, Be strong, Be ka-ASI for the betterment of Maasin and Southern Leyte.
